Router/WiFi not working” is very common problem usually occurs due to poor network connection, devices that won’t connect to WiFi, Router hardware issue, problematic Router/WiFi driver, week router signal and no internet connection are some reasons that trigger “Router/WiFi not working” problem.

If Router hardware and its cable is in good condition and is properly connected to your device, but WiFi/router is not detected on your machine means WiFi not working related issues occurs, then one reasons behind this problem can be wrong password which you have entered to connect that router/WiFi. In this case, you can enter right password to logging into your router and check if it works.

But if you have already entered right password but still you are facing the same problem, then this time you can check for WiFi/router driver software in your device whether it is installed properly or not. Step 2: Unplug your router cable from power source

Step 3: Wait for 1-2 minute to drain the powers in your router

Step 4: Now, connect your router power cable to power source

Step 5: Finally, turn ON your router and check if the trouble is resolved.

Method 2: Reset your Router

“Reset your Router” will reset your personal configuration and settings associated to your router. This can fix WiFi/Router is not Working issue. To reset your router, follow the steps below.

Step 1: Press & hold the “Reset” button or “Pinhole” on your router for about 30-40 seconds depending on router models.

Step 2: After 30-40 seconds, release the Reset button or pinhole and then wait for your router to restart

Step 3: Now, you can use your computer to set up a network configuration on your router, and check if it works.

Method 3: Reposition the router

If you are receiving no signal from your router or your router not working due to poor signal strength, then you can try to fix by repositioning the router. In case if your router is placed where large metal object or wall exists and causing week router signal, then you can move your router from that place to the place where nothing is blocking the wireless signal. You can fit your router near your device for improved WiFi/router signal. Moreover, you should also ensure that router’s antenna is positioned vertically rather than horizontally.

Method 4: Change the wireless channel

If your wireless router is located nearby a lot of other wireless router with the same wireless frequency, then you can change your wireless channel to operate on that wireless channel instead of a more congested one which can reduce this interference, and improving your WiFi/router wireless signal.

Method 5: Verify router cables are securely connected

Sometimes, “Router is not Working” problem can occur due to router hardware issue especially router cable whether it is not properly connected or cable has been damaged. At first, you should check if router cable is properly connected to your device or not. Cable connected loosely to device can cause “Wifi/router not detected on device” and/or similar issue, so you should check all the router cables involved and ensure that they are securely connected. Check each end of the cable and ensure it is securely connected.

Method 6: Check for overheating issue for your router

Due to overheating, your WiFi/router can’t work properly. So in this case, you can fix this issue by placing your router near cooler or you can use “Fan” to cool it down. And then check if router not working problem is resolved.

Other methods:

Step 1: Contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) to troubleshoot network/internet connection issues.

Step 2: You can try another router if you are experiencing hardware or compatibility issues with your router. Additionally, you can also try “Dual Band Router” for better compatibility and connectivity.

Step 3: You can try the same router on other devices (PC/laptops/tablets or others) and check if it works. If it is really works on other devices, something went wrong with your device. So, you can contact your device’s manufacturers to fix.
