In this post, we are discussing on ‘Qualcomm Snapdragon 720g Vs 730g Comparison’ and trying to know which one is better SoC (System-on-Chip). Qualcomm Snapdragon 720g belongs to Snapdragon 700-series in budget segment was released by Qualcomm Company. It includes the use of 2x Cortex-A76 cores as its main performance CPUs as a very large jump in the 700-series of Qualcomm Snapdragon brand.
On other hand, Qualcomm Snapdragon 730g is another Qualcomm-brand chipset in 700-series has Adreno 618 GPU and also offers Elite gaming Engine along with features such as Game Fast Loader, HDR Gaming, Game Anti-Cheat Extensions, and more to offer the most optimum experience while Snapdragon 720g offers almost the same graphics & gaming supports. Let’s start the discussion on ‘Qualcomm Snapdragon 730g Vs 720g Comparison’ in details.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 720g Vs 730g SoC Comparison
On the basis of CPU: Both SD720g and SD730g are octa-core processor. Qualcomm Snapdragon 720g chipset has 2x 2.3 GHz – Kryo 465 Gold (Cortex-A76) and 6x 1.8 GHz – Kryo 465 Silver (Cortex-A55), while Snapdragon 730g processor has 2x 2.2 GHz – Kryo 470 Gold (Cortex-A76) and 6x 1.8 GHz – Kryo 470 Silver (Cortex-A55) cores. This data state that Snapdragon 730g is better in terms of CPU because it has Kryo 470 Gold cores while SD720g only has Kryo 465 cores.
On the basis of GPU: Snapdragon 720g SoC has Adreno 618 GPU and Snapdragon 730g SoC has also the same Adreno 618 GPU. SD730g builds on 8nm Process Technology while Snapdragon 720g is 8nm LPP chipset. So in terms of GPU, both chipsets are winner and have one of the best graphics & gaming supports.
On the basis of AI Engine: Focuses on performance & improvements, Qualcomm released Snapdragon 720g processor with Qualcomm Hexagon 692 DSP AI Engine with 4k video capture at the rate of 30fps, which offers 20% improved in AI performance for things like AI-based camera functionality or voice translation features. On other hand, Snapdragon 730g SoC has Qualcomm Hexagon 688 DSP AI Engine with 4K video capture at frame rate 30fps.
RAM & Storage: Snapdragon 720g SoC powered devices can support up to 8GB LPDDR4x RAM while the mobile phones powered by Snapdragon 730g processor can support up to 8GB LPDDR4x RAM. This data states that both chipsets have same type of RAM and size support. But SD720g has UFS 2.1 and SD730g has UFS 3.0 storage type.
Camera support: Qualcomm Snapdragon 720g processor powered devices can support up to 1x 192MP and 2x 22MP camera, while Snapdragon 730g processor has 1x 192MP, 2x 22MP camera support with 4k video capture frame rate of 30fps.
Connectivity options: Note that both Snapdragon 720g and Snapdragon 730g SoC offers only support LTE network connectivity support with Company’s X15 LTE Cat-15 modem. So in terms of 5G Modem, no one is winner because both chipsets have only 4G (LTE) modem instead of 5G connectivity options. On other hand, SD720g SoC supports WIFI 5, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, GPS. Snapdragon 730g processor has Bluetooth 5.0, WiFi 6, NFS and GPS.
Mobile Phones powered by Snapdragon 730g Processor:
