How to fix Other User Account not showing Windows 10

We all knew that one can create a number of user accounts in Windows 10/11. This is one of the most helpful features which a user can use when he/she is unable to access their primary account. Having more than one account is good and most of the users prefer to have multiple user accounts.

But recently so many users have claimed that the Other User Account not showing Windows 10. And as a result of it, they are unable to switch to other users on the same computer. If you are also looking for a troubleshooting guide to resolve the same issue, you have reached at the right place.

Why I am facing Other User Account not showing on Windows 10?

After investigating a lot about this issue we concluded that this trouble may occur due to non-existence of User Accounts in the Group Section of the Local users and Group Windows. And it is also possible that an incorrect group is being listed for the Switch Users and Login User section.

Try these fixes if Other User Account Names Not Displaying on Windows 10 Login Screen

Method 1: Enable the User Accounts Manually

In this first method we suggest you to enable user accounts manually and to do the same follow the below mention guidelines:

Step 1: On your keyboard press Windows + R keys together to open the Run dialog box> then type in lusrmgr.msc in the run prompt and press Enter.

Step 2: Now on the left side you need to double click on the Users option > and on the right side you can see the list of users on your PC

Step 3: If any of the users have a down arrow mark listed in the icon then those accounts are turned off. These should be enabled manually.

Step 4: Here right-click on that particular user and tap on Properties

Step 5: Remove the checkmark from the Account is disabled option just by clicking on the checkbox beside it

Step 6: In order to save the changes click on Apply and OK

Step 7: Repeat the steps for all the users whose account is disabled and then log out from the current user account.

Step 8: Lastly Restart the PC and see if the issue resolved or not

Method 2: Find Users Using Local Users and Groups Window

In this method we suggest you to find users using local users and Group Window and in order to proceed with this method follow the below mention steps:

Step 1: First of all open the run prompt by using Windows + R keys together > then type in lusrmgr.msc in the prompt and press Enter key. It will open the local users and groups window.

Step 2: After that on the left side click on Groups and on the right side right click on Administrators

Step 3: Now from the appeared list click on Add to Group

Step 4: In the next window, click on Add> In the select users window, click on Object types

Step 5: Select users by clicking on the checkbox beside it and uncheck all other options in the window> click on OK> Under the select users window click on Advanced

Step 6: After that click on Find Now button

Step 7: Now from the search results select the username that is not displaying on the login screen> After that click OK and again in the next window, click on OK

Step 8: Finally Restart the system and see if the issue resolved or not

Method 3: Execute the Commands in Command Prompt

Step 1: First of all open the command prompt as an administrator and then type in cmd under the Windows search bar and hold Ctrl + Shift keys and press Enter

Step 2: You will be prompted with user account control, click on Yes> then copy and paste the following command into the command prompt and press Enter key:

secedit /configure /cfg %windir%\inf\defltbase.inf /db defltbase.sdb /verbose

Lastly wait for the execution of the commands and then restart your PC.

Method 4: Edit Security Options

If you are still struggling with User Account Names Not Displaying on Windows 10 Login Screen then we suggest you to edit the security options.

Here’s how:

Step 1: First of all open the run prompt by using Windows + R keys> then type in gpedit.msc in the run prompt and press Enter key. It will open the local group policy editor

Step 2: Now on the left expand Computer Configuration by clicking on the arrow beside it> Expand the Windows Settings and then further expand Security Settings and then Local Policies

Step 3: Click on Security Options> On the right side, double click on Interactive Logon: Don’t Display Last Signed-in

Step 4: In the opened window check the radio button beside disabled> lastly click on Apply and OK and then Restart your PC

Method 5: Check the Registry Editor

Before proceeding with this method ensure to take a backup of the registry.

Step 1: On your keyboard press Windows + R keys together to open Run dialog box> then type in regedit.exe in the run prompt and press Enter

Step 2: You will be prompted with user account control, you need to click on Yes. It will open the Registry Editor

Step 3: Go to the following path in the registry:

Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList

Step 4: Now click on each profile list and make sure the value of State with the type REG_DWORD is 0X00000000 (0). If its value is 0X00000000 (1) then the user profile is disabled

Step 5: If it is disabled then you have to change it to 0X00000000 (0). You can do this by double clicking on the state and change its value to 1 in the value data field.

Step 6: Lastly click on OK
